Windows 10 Creators update issue Realtone cable

Postby scottly99 » Wed May 03, 2017 12:05 am

Hi Guys

Since I updated Windows 10 to the creators update over the weekend at the end of April 2017, my Rocksmith Realtone cable refuses to work in ASIO4ALL.
It works in the game itself.
But as soon as I select it as a device in ASIO4ALL instantly I get the red flashing ! down in the systray.
No other errors appear.

I've tried completely removing all audio drivers for my Realtek soundcard, uninstalled ASIO4ALL, I was using ASIOLINK too (quite successfully too!)
But nothing works.
I've tried multiple USB ports on my computer 2.0 and 3.0
Every single time, I get the red !
I've tested the realtone cable on another laptop (that isn't updated yet) and it still works.
I should probably test updating the laptop - then I will know for sure that Windows 10 creators update does something to the way ASIO4all grabs devices.

Interesting, your issue resembles mine (see "Lexicon Alpha ASIO input not working on Windows 7"), but I use Windows 7 and didn't install creators update, but uninstall some old windows update instead.
Looks like some of these updates mess up something with ASIO. I wonder if there is a way to resolve this without reinstalling OS?

I can reproduce this (all USB devices seem affected).
Looking for a solution...

Here is the workaround http://www.asio4all.com/debug/ASIO4ALL_2_14_English.exe
You may need to re-start your computer in order for things to fall into place once again.
